Preserve their sentimental value by breaking them and using them to create a work of art.  
Gila will teach you how to use new tools and new ways of seeing what your pottery, dishes etc. can become.

Explore different ways to approach this exciting mixed media process.
Open possibilities and create new pathways for your art. 
Do you paint first, or paint after adhering your collage pieces?  Does it matter which is first?
Should you soften, or emphasis the edges? 
Should you make your own collage paper, or use “found” paper. 
Is one better than the other? How to make harmonious relationships and balance in your composition.
This class will give you the tools to explore different possibilities: to explore various techniques and ways

to produce the individual artwork that carries your signature style.

Design Elements With Mixed Media with Christine Peloquin
Thursday, September 18
Cost:  $150.00

Learn the joys of mixed media collage. This workshop will focus on the  fundamentals of collage and design
and challenge artists to unlock and find their inner voice. Artists will be working with
gelli plate printing on paper and fabrics to create original and colorful mono-prints.  Artists will use the
mono-prints they have made, along with papers, fabrics, and found objects to create collages on wood,
canvas boards or even over past work.  Artists are encouraged to incorporate some of their own prior artwork or their own personal stash of fabrics and paper, into new pieces. Christine's goal is to create a fun time that introduces new techniques in a comfortable learning environment to enhance where students already are.

Artists will have the opportunity to do Chinese brush painting on an organza panel

to create a work of art that appears transparent but morphs into opaque!

Batik Techniques with Muffy Clark Gill

Learn traditional Batik dyeing techniques with Muffy Clark Gill.
Students will design and create their own stencil and apply it 
to fabric and then dye.
They will learn how to incorporate their creations with new media to create new work.

They will learn how to extract color from the plants and use them in art projects.

This is a wonderful time to view INNOVATIONS 2025 and mingle with fellow ISEA members and guests, community artists, art collectors and the public.

Must Experience THE GRANADA BRIDGE

 

The Granada Bridge is a high-clearance bridge that spans

the Halifax River and Intracoastal Waterway linking the mainland and beach peninsula parts of Ormond Beach,

Volusia County, Florida. It was the first bridge to be built

over the Halifax River.The Casements, along with City Hall Plaza, Fortunato Park, and Riverbridge Park reside at the

four corners of Ormond Beach's Granada Bridge, 

whichgive their collective name to the annual

"Four CornersFestival" in Ormond Beach.

Fortunato Park is a 2.6 acre riverfront park, located

just east of the Granada Bridge across from
Rockefeller Gardens.

The park offers scenic views of the Halifax River. The park is also home to the Ormond Hotel Cupola, which is a historic landmark. Paved walking trails surround the grounds.

THE CASEMENTS 


The Casements, named for the large hand-cut casement windows that adorn the mansion, has been beautifully restored to function as the Cultural Center for the City of Ormond Beach, Florida. Set on the shore of the Halifax River, and just two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, the late John D. Rockefeller's winter home is known as "The Jewel of Ormond Beach." The Casements has been officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been designated as a Florida Heritage Site.
